meat girlIn a recent online dating study, it was stated that live in and married couples in healthy relationships have sex between 3-4 times a week and two of those times should be ‘meat and potato’ sex.  Now what is ‘meat and potato’ sex you may be wondering?  ’Meat and potato’ sex is the slang term for ‘maintenance sex.’

If you are in a long-term relationship and if you are a woman, you are familiar with the sad reality of when the sparks fizzle out from time to time.  You know everything about your male partner from their love of cheesy action films to the annoying skin tag in between their thighs.  The sex is never as exciting as it was when you were first  started dating, but unfortunately men tend to have a healthy sex drive, which is why it is important for women to suck it up and make love to their partner even when they don’t want to in order to prevent a ‘dry spell.’

Here are some helpful hints to get you through:

1.  Take a long bath!  If you sense your partner is ready for a roll in the hay and you’re not at all turned on, take some to yourself by taking a long bath.  Light some candles and enjoy your bath beads.  Women feel their sexiest when they’re fresh and clean.  Also, you can take advantage of the shower head to get your juices pumping.

2.  Breathe and focus!  Sometimes your mind may say no, but the familiar touch of your lover will eventually get you turned on.  When they’re nuzzling on your neck and it’s annoying you rather than pleasuring you, take a deep breath and focus on the intimacy of the moment.

3.  If all fails, think of Boris Kodjoe.  I hear that seem to work for most women.

Remember, sex is a regular part of any healthy relationship.  You must get through the ‘meat and potato’ sex from time to time to fully enjoy the ‘gourmet sex.’
